Gem High

Gem High is a temporary powered-up state triggered by collecting 100 gems in a short span. The gem streak meter around the HUD fills as you collect; each gem also refreshes the streak's decay timer (about five seconds), and at 100 your weapon jumps to its boosted form — more damage, and for some weapons bigger volleys — until the streak lapses.

Every weapon has distinct gem-high stats; see the damage lines on each weapon page. The Gem Sick upgrade renames the state and makes the streak decay slower.
