The jetpack engages while airborne and holding the fire button, but only when [[Charge|charge]] is at zero; with any charge remaining, the [[Gunboots]] fire instead.
 
It holds 90 fuel units, consumed at 0.5 per frame — 3 seconds of thrust at 60 fps. While thrusting, fall speed is capped at 3 × (fuel used ÷ fuel capacity): a fresh jetpack holds the player in place, and the cap loosens toward falling speed 3 as the fuel empties. The jetpack sprite shows three visual stages as fuel depletes.
